Job Description

Headway Hospitality, a division of Headway Workforce Solutions, is currently seeking experienced motivated and enthusiastic Food Service Workers for our client in the Valdese, NC area! As a Food Service Worker, you will prepare and portion food and beverage items. You will also provide excellent customer service while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. This position offers pay of $11.50 per hour. Shifts times are Monday – Friday from 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., and rotating weekends from 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. We are looking to start individuals immediately!

As a Food Service Worker, you will:

  • Accurately complete all transactions (cash and non-cash) and return accurate change to guests
  • Count money at the beginning of each shift and document into the cashier sheet.
  • Assist in cleaning the dining area by sweeping/mopping floors and wiping tables, make sure to put out caution signs
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and fellow associates
  • Greet guests positively, treating guests in a professional manner
  • Assist with the breakdown of dining hall station as needed
  • Cash-out with the supervisor on duty at the end of shift
  • Accurately transport food and beverages to guest promptly
  • Ensure proper stock of all products and supplies needed for service
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by management

Requirements of a Food Service Worker:

  • Consent to a pre-employment background check
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Follow good hygiene
  • Customer service oriented
  • Previous kitchen or other hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem solve proactively
  • Familiar with the industries’ best practices.
