Job Description

On behalf of Lexington Health Network, Headway Hospitality is currently seeking Line Cooks. As a Line Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food for the facility, as well as assisting in dish washing tasks. This position is offering 25-40 hours per week, starting at $13-15/hour.


As a Line Cook, you will:
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Assist with dish washing tasks
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year kitchen experience; (pay rate will be based on skill level)
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
  • All kitchen employees will be responsible for sanitation guidelines
  • Must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check

Additional Information:
  • Uniforms will be provided by facility
  • Black, non-slip shoes are required

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to see, and communicate through speech and listening
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
