Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Material Receiver/Handler for a contract opportunity in Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading suppliers of a wide range of products, solutions and services in the field of energy technology.

As a Material Receiver/Handler, you will:
  • Under the direction of the Team Lead-Materials or the Warehouse Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for picking and staging orders to be sent to the production facility
  • This is a job in a warehouse environment with speed and accuracy being key components
  • The handler will have access to electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and ladders to accomplish their task
  • The duties are performed per department policies and procedures
  • Pulling Kit BOMS that are assigned in a timely fashion
  • Making sure all parts are labeled and organized for inspection
  • Paying attention to detail so the Kit BOMs are accurate
  • Keep your area clean according to 5S procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Experience in a warehouse/production environment is preferred
  • Willing to learn the use of fork lifts, pallet jacks, and ladders

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to stand or walk about the plant for long periods of time
  • Able to physically lift and carry up to 35 lbs. frequently

Additional Information:
  • This is a 6 month contract
  • 40 Hours per week
  • 7:00 am-3:30 pm (Monday - Thursday), 6:00am-2:30pm (Friday) + OT
