Headway Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting a Mortgage Investigations Specialist for our client, Genworth Financial. Genworth is a leading Fortune 500 insurance holding company that is dedicated to helping people secure their financial lives, families, and futures.

This is a remote - contract position.

Reporting to the Investigations Team Leader, the Investigations Specialist is responsible for examining residential loan file documents to ensure compliance with Genworth’s requirements and other applicable standards. Besides, the INV Specialist is responsible for identifying red-flags, completing re-verification efforts on loan file documents, and reviewing the returned documents for compliance and accuracy. This position requires strong organization skills, resourcefulness, and excellent communication. Successful candidates must be able to work accurately, effectively, and ensure appropriate productivity while requiring minimal supervision. Familiarity with loan file documents and mortgage underwriting are essential skills.


Responsibilities of the Investigations Specialist:
  • Reviewing credit origination and closing documentation of pre-claim delinquent loans for compliance to underwriting guidelines at the time of loan closing.
  • Reviewing credit origination and closing documents for “red flags” requiring additional investigation up to and including engaging 3rd party vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow completing the pre-claim investigation to ensure timely claim settlements.
  • Sending and receiving documents as part of re-verification efforts
  • Reviewing re-verified documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Managing a pipeline of loans to ensure timely processing, review, and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively utilize discretion on loan level decisions
  • Ability to work in multiple systems to capture all required reporting data fields
  • Ability to supply concise, condensed narrative when presenting a loan decision recommendation
  • Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service
  • Ability to meet and exceed production goals

Requirements:
  • Previous and/or current mortgage fraud/compliance investigation experience, residential mortgage underwriting experience, mortgage insurance underwriting experience or prior experience as a quality assurance auditor about mortgage underwriting
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer use
  • High school diploma or equivalency

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CRU Designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
