Job Description

Mathematica Policy Research, a nationally recognized social policy research company, is currently working with the Social Security Administration on an important study of employment and training opportunities for beneficiaries. The results of this study will show how well these programs are working and how they can be improved.

This is where we need your help! On behalf of Mathematica Policy Research, Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking part time field staff for this project. Staff is needed to find hard to reach study participants in Nassau County. You should live within a 40 mile radius of Hempstead NY. Training and project work will begin in May 2019.

We offer:
  • Flexible work schedule (availability of 20 hours per week, at least 3 days per week is required)
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
  • Pay rate dependent on experience and location
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Paid telephone/web based training
  • An opportunity to work on an important, national research project

Interested candidates should:
  • Be resourceful, dependable, possess excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation (daily travel only, no overnight stays required)
  • Be willing to undergo a low level background check, as well as
  • Undergo a Social Security Administration security clearance, fingerprinting required
  • Experience is preferred, but not necessary
  • Be organized, detailed oriented
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus!

Physical Demands:
  • Be outside and exposed to all types of weather
  • Travel frequently to respondent locations
  • Be exposed to fumes and odors as might be expected in any outdoor environment
  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs
  • Communicate through speech and listening
  • Read text verbatim
  • Walk, stand, sit for periods of time, use their hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, lifting, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Transport electronic devices and/or materials weighing up to approx. 15 pounds.
