Surveys of Consumer Attitudes (SCA): SCA is a data-collection project that began in 1946 and conducts 600 telephone interviews each month. Survey Technicians will contact households via cellphone to complete a household roster and to interview selected adults. The questionnaire length varies by month and includes questions regarding consumer expectations about changes in inflation, unemployment, interest rates, and prospects for economic growth over the short and long term. The Index of Consumer Expectations, part of SCA, is an official component of the Index of Leading Economic Indicators, devised by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and data from SCA (also known as the Surveys of Consumers) have proven to be accurate indicators of the future course of the national economy.

Monitoring the Future Non Response (MTF NR): Monitoring the Future (MTF) has been an ongoing study since 1976.  Each year, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders from around the country complete in-school self-administered questionnaires.  Then a small subset of the 12th grade respondents are selected to receive follow-up questionnaires every other year, and then, once every 5 years after they reach the age of 30.  Every winter, interviewers in the Survey Services Lab (SSL) attempt to locate each panel member whose annual newsletter was returned as undeliverable.  Every summer, SSL interviewers contact respondents to remind them to return the questionnaires that have been sent to them.
