Job Description

Headway Hospitality, a division of Headway Workforce Solutions, is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic Cooks for our client in the Greenville, SC area! As a Cook, you will prepare, portion, and cook food for service. You will also provide excellent customer service while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. 

Two shift times are currently available, and both shifts offer a 30 minute break. This specific position offers pay of $12.75 per hour and is Monday, November 9th through Thursday, November 19th. We are looking to start individuals immediately!

  • A.M. Cook: 6:30 am – 2:00 pm (week of 11/9 - 11/13 = 35hrs and week of 11/16 - 11/19 = 28hrs)
  • P.M. Cook: 1:30 pm – 7:00 pm (week of 11/9 - 11/13 = 30hrs and week of 11/16 - 11/18 = 18hrs)

As a Cook, you will:
  • Setup, label, and stock station with necessary supplies/inventory
  • Prepare food to be distributed to vendors
  • Cooking menu items quickly and in excellent quality
  • Clean up station and properly handle leftover foods
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Observe and practice all established health and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure all products are prepared, held and served at correct temperatures
  • Ensure the proper rotation, labeling, and dating of all products
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements of a Cook:
  • Consent to a pre-employment background check
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 1+ years of experience in food preparation in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous kitchen experience as a cook or in culinary arts preferred
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Ability to interact as a team with co-workers/supervisors
