Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking an Internal Recruiting / Onboarding Assistant

The Recruiting / Onboarding Assistant is responsible for sourcing, qualifying and influencing talent for all levels of positions, and develops candidates to present to hiring managers. Strong focus on sourcing passive candidates through networking, cold calling, referrals, professional associations, advanced internet searches, social media and research to meet talent demands.


  • Responsible for the creation of recruitment information, job postings, screening documents, and other required screening tools
  • Source qualified candidates to meet client expectations
  • Screen candidates via phone using provided scripts and questions to obtain job skills, work history and to ensure candidates meet minimum qualifications
  • Performs reference checks, background screenings, education verification, certification and license verification, and skills testing
  • Submit required number of qualified screened candidates to client by deadlines
  • Maintains electronic records in applicant tracking system pertaining to job applicants and job orders.
  • Stays informed of current trends and researches the latest information pertaining to best practices in recruitment and retention
  • Work closely with client contacts to meet their hiring needs and expectations
  • Actively participate in daily/weekly team meetings to effect closure of job orders

Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR Associates degree with equivalent, relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.


  • 2+ years of experience with Recruiting or HR administrative support
  • Self-starter with an incredible work ethic and that will drive for results
  • A successful track record of performing against quotas, deadlines, and meeting recruiting goals
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word office
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems such as Taleo
  • Knowledge of Job-Board search engine's including Monster and/or CareerBuilder, Craigslist, LinkedIn, Indeed, Simply Hired etc.
  • Ability to probe when necessary during the interview process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling interviews.
  • Prior experience Onboarding new Hire's
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced client focused environment

Pay Rate:  $10.00 - $14.00 per hour   Depending on Experience

Hours:   Monday - Friday    8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  with  potential for OT
