Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a positive and motivated individual for a Senior Accountant position at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of the month-end closing process. You will have the opportunity to use your accounting knowledge, organizational skills, and multi-tasking abilities. This position will report directly to Controller and play an instrumental role in maintaining accuracy of the general ledger and issuing timely financial reports.

Additionally, as a Senior Accountant, you will…

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing activities including preparing various general journal entries, calculate and record fixed asset depreciation and prepaid expense amortization, record accrual and allocation journal entries
• Monitor bank activity daily, apply cash receipts and record bank transactions
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports for several business units
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, research and resolve variances
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Review profit and loss accounts and analyze actual to budget variances
• Prepare documentation for external auditors
• Assist with establishing and documenting SOP
• Work closely with other functional areas and business units to resolve issues
• Ad-hoc reporting and other projects as needed

Senior Accountant Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years related experience
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is required
• Proficient with Excel (v-lookup formulas, pivot tables, macros)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively organize and present financial information
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems preferred
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
