Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Senior HR Specialist for a contract opportunity in Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading suppliers of a wide range of products, solutions and services in the field of energy technology.


Responsibilities:
  • This role develops, implements and coordinates corporate wide human resources policies, programs and processes in functional specialty and monitors effectiveness to further business objectives and legal requirements specific to Human Resources compliance rules, regulations, and laws.
  • The successful candidate will act as point of contact for employees for all immigration matters, including working with internal and external counsel to ensure compliance. This role will gather and compile data and information and make recommendations to counsel for immigration matters. This includes processing immigration applications, visas, and visa extensions, and advising foreign national employees (non-U.S. persons) on immigration and visa procedures.
  • This role is responsible for monitoring legal status of foreign national employees (non-U.S. persons). The role also will coordinate and oversee functions within Dominion Energy’s I-9 process and export control process, and manage functions within the associated programs to ensure compliance and control.
  • Develops, implements and coordinates corporate wide human resources policies, programs and processes in functional specialty and monitors their effectiveness to further business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Continues study of functional specialty to keep abreast of current practices and informed of new developments, to identify improvements or changes needed and to alert management to need for action.
  • Educates partners within human resources community on policies and programs and provides guidance in their administration.
  • Recommends cost control measures and long-range strategies that will maintain competitiveness and facilitate achievement of corporate objectives. Provides assistance, advice and leadership to customers and co-workers.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business highly preferred
  • At least 5 years of directly related experience with immigration processing, export control, and I-9 coordination and documentation or human resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and in depth knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • In depth knowledge of company organizational structure.
  • In depth knowledge of company policies, programs and information systems (SAP) and relevant government regulations.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk or hear. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Additional Information:
  • This is a 5 month contract
  • 40 Hours per week
