Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Voter Registration Assistant in Raleigh, NC for a local client in the Wake county area. As a Voter Registration Assistant, you will assist with early voting. This is a temporary position, lasting through November 2020, and offering $15 per hour. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the election process!

As a Voter Registration Assistant, you will:
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the voter registration system
  • Data entry of voter registration forms and absentee ballot request forms
  • Verify other employee’s data entry by visual review
  • Scan forms using document scanners
  • Process incoming mail and documents received over-the-counter
  • Customer service (in-person, telephone), answer incoming calls and solve election-related questions
  • Log outgoing and incoming absentee ballot mailings in the computer system
  • Fold and stuff outgoing mailings
  • Other clerical duties as assigned
  • Help with updating documents, including using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Qualifications & Education:
  • At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US.
  • Available to work a full day and must be able to work up to 50-60 hour work week (including some weekends) during election season
  • Data entry experience - must be able to type (a data entry assessment is required)
  • Customer service experience
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn election laws and processes and explain them to customers
  • Flexibility to perform different tasks throughout the day
  • Maintain confidentiality of voter information and sign a confidentiality statement before being hired
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 OS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel)
  • Data Entry of 10,000 ksph or higher
