On behalf of Global Contact Services, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Dispatchers to join their Call Center Team in Medford, Massachusetts. As a Dispatcher, you will act as the go-between for the drivers and base headquarters by coordinating the implementation of the daily schedule and use of drivers/vehicles during your shift. You will also successfully handle emergency situations that arise with the drivers and vehicles during your shift.

As a Dispatcher, you will…
  • Communicate using Radio and Telephone
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the fleet of drivers, ensuring timely completion of assigned workload for the shift
  • Complete all necessary required paperwork and data entry with accuracy
  • Communicate with others in a courteous, professional manner while following company policies and adhering to company confidentiality standards

Requirements as a Dispatcher
  • 1-3 years paratransit, taxi, bus, or elderly care dispatching experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Intermediate data entry and computer skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude while working
  • Must be comfortable in a high volume, production-oriented environment with quality and efficiency goals
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as deemed necessary by management
  • Two-way radio experience preferred

Physical Requirements of a Dispatcher
  • General office environment working conditions
  • You can either sit or stand while performing your job – it is your choice
  • You will sit or stand for extended periods of time, while spending the majority of your shift in a seated location
  • Computer, dual monitors, keyboard, and mouse will be used continuously throughout your shift
  • You must be visually able to use a computer continuously throughout your shift
  • You must be able to hear and speak, as telephone and radio interaction will be required throughout your shift
