Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an Engineering Technician - Corrosion for a contract opportunity in Cleveland, OH with one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience with an industry leader currently operating the nation's largest natural gas storage system.


As a Engineering Technician you will:
  • Performs design, monitoring, inspection, and paperwork related to the operation and maintenance of the Company’s cathodic protection systems.
  • May work under the direction of like classifications but is often left to his or her own resourcefulness to accomplish the work.
  • Locate and monitor test stations, bonds, and rectifiers.
  • Use Engineering records, test equipment, and other resources to troubleshoot cathodic protection systems.
  • Design and remediate galvanic anode systems, rectified cathodic protection systems, corrosion corrections, and other corrosion related projects.
  • Provide information and guidance related to cathodic protection systems to Company personnel, contractors, municipal representatives, external agencies, etc.
  • Perform close interval surveys.
  • Compile cost estimates and material requirements for corrosion projects.
  • Input data into company record systems as required.
  • Prepare and/or interpret field notes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the classification.

Skills:
  • Good computer, math, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must have a basic understanding of corrosion survey techniques.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and required to use a personal vehicle for Company business use.
  • Must have an acceptable attendance and work record.

Qualifications:

One of the following is required:

  • Vocational or technical training in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience or formal training in cathodic protection systems. 
  • Demonstrated cathodic protection design skills gained through either experience or formal training.
  • Basic Electricity
  • Construction background

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for at least 8-10 hours a day
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel.

Schedule:

Mon - Fri
7 am - 3:30 pm
6 month contract


Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in all weather conditions and environments including high traffic urban areas as well as rural off-road areas.

Miscellaneous:
  • This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing.
