Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an International Purchasing Planner for a direct hire opportunity in Garner, NC. This is a great opportunity to work with  with our partner, one of the leading providers of farm equipment and supplies.


As an International Purchasing Planner, you will:
  • Review and analyze RSO data output to insure sufficient inventory coverage is proactively planned
  • Based upon review of sales forecast from operating system, determine quantities that will be entered for purchase orders.
  • Responsible for the reduction of Stock Outs on part numbers either assigned or on recaps assigned by the Purchasing Manager. Manage closely all corporate defined key SKUs to balance both costs and inventory needs to meet seasonal and/or overall customer demands.
  • Proactively interact with Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Department Leads, and staff to identify, plan, and replenish part numbers. Objective is to maximize top line revenues by having sufficient inventories on-hand while, at the same time, maintaining reasonable inventory dollar investments.
  • Primary expectations include, but not limited to, the planning and monitoring of inventory levels, sales trends, timely replenishment actions, and monitoring seasonality requirements for assigned SKUs to maximize top line revenues.
  • Develop and authorize all purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policy and procedure.
  • Maintain communication to International vendors by email and PDF orders with continued communication to confirm proformas and product details and shipping document details
  • Maintain open communication with the Distribution Centers of inbound containers and store to store transfers of stock per forecast and inventory needs.
  • Utilize planning tools and processes to track purchase orders and maintain orders and accurate estimated times of arrival.
  • Responsible for understanding seasonality requirements, replenishment activities, and has primary ownership and accountability for monitoring inventory coverage for SKU’s assigned or worked on a daily basis.
  • Responds to Stores’ fill-in requests by analyzing quantities requested, inventory levels, RSO replenishment calendars, and making best decision on the creation of purchase orders to eliminate stock outs.
  • Processing, analyzing, and proactive decision making on all RSO orders.
  • Successfully perform all other duties assigned to them by management team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High degree of self-initiation and self-confidence. Must be a proactive self starter who demonstrates a high degree of flexibility to resolve problems
  • High level of interpersonal skills, detail oriented,  flexible, quality conscious, and self motivated
  • Able to work efficiently on various assignments
  • Able to handle paperwork flow, prioritize work load, and work well under stress.
  • Strong team building skills
  • ERP experience preferred but not required.
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Production Management, Retail Planning, or equivalent field.
  • 2-4 years of material planning and scheduling experience.
