Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a IT Test Engineer in Columbus, OH an applied science research and technology company.


Primary Function:

Under general supervision, carries out procedures to ensure that information systems, products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements.

Tests production software of moderate complexity to ensure quality through the use of automated and manual system tests.


Major Responsibilities:
  • Develops, modifies and evaluates automated and manual software test plans used to test, and optimize software on multiple projects Documents and works to resolve with development team problems of moderate scope.
  • Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
  • Establishes quantitative measurements and techniques to measure software quality for moderately complex programs.
  • Selects appropriate testing methods and techniques to effectively and efficiently ensure proper test coverage.
  • Establishes software test standards and methods for moderately complex program or parts of programs.
  • Communicates and coordinates with managers, other peer testers and developers to build alignment between cross-functional groups.
  • Provide testing as needed to support the CIS organization in their efforts to secure desktop systems in a timely manner.
  • Provide quality assurance by testing through the Software Integrity Process for Monthly Microsoft patches, Service Packs, images and third party software.

Accountability:
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
  • Assists in training less experience staff

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
  • 2 -5 yrs Proficiency in programming and scripting.
  • Prior experience in automated testing tools, test methodologies and QA processes.

Accountability:
  • Education High School or Equivalent
  • Related Work Experience None
  • Certifications Crane/Forklift. In house training provided to obtain certification. Driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, type, and use a telephone.
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
