Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Laundry Assistant for a temp to hire opportunity in Raleigh, NC with our partner, a local textile company.


Job Description:     

Position works as part of a team with other coworkers in the preparation, finishing (ironing), and folding of all health care related flatwork.  Flatwork items include such things as flat sheets, pillow cases, bath blankets, surgical drapes and sheeting, scrub pants and shirts and other similar items.

  •     Damp sorting of clean linen by finishing classification
  •     Feeding of pieces into an ironer by means of a flatwork feeder or feeding table
  •     Receiving and/or final hand folding of finished flatwork items
  •     Clean sorting and stacking of like finished flatwork items
  •     All other duties as assigned

Skills:
  •     High school diploma or GED required
  •     Must be able to push/pull carts of clean damp linen weighing approximately 200-350 pounds
  •     Must be able to roll cart weighing approximately 100 pounds
  •     Must be able to regularly lift damp linen weighing approximately 35-40 pounds
  •     Must be able to read, write and comprehend all written memos, directives, policies, procedures, forms, and charts used by the department

Additional Information:

    This is a temp to hire opportunity.
    Pay rate is $8.00/hr.
