A large nationally-known research organization, Abt Associates, is seeking self-motivated, hard-working, skillful communicators to travel to selected homes and gain participation of respondents. 

The interview conducted will support the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community Center Training (TAACCCT) project. The TAACCCT grant programs provides community colleges and other eligible institutions of higher education with funds for education and career training programs.

Field Interviewers will be responsible for locating respondents who were not previously contacted. Once located, you will be responsible for administering the questionnaire to the respondents using a specially programmed computer program. The interview may be completed either by phone or in person. 

This is a part time position which will begin in April 2018 and is expected to last through December 2019, with periods of downtime where little to no work is available. During the busy periods of the study, candidates must be willing to commit a minimum of 25 hours/week to the project, largely evening and weekend hours. Qualified candidates will be comfortable working a flexible schedule with variable hours, and be able to commit to the full duration of the study. Pay for this will depend on the area where work is being conducted. 


  • Be comfortable knocking on doors in all assigned neighborhoods
  • Gain participation of respondents to complete the screening
  • Flexible availability to accommodate respondent schedules during daytime, evening, weekend, and weekday hours


  • Must have access to personal, reliable transportation to be used for business purposes
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
  • Must be able to work daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend hours
  • Must be able to commit a minimum of 25 hours/week
