Job Description

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Accountant Lead for a 5+ month contract opportunity in Portland, OR with our partner, a rate-regulated utility company that provides reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible energy to customers in Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, and Nebraska.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience that has contributed to the development of proven accounting, regulation, interpretation, and application skills, financial and economic analysis skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, company accounting policies, procedures and practices, and company accounting systems.
  • Analysis skills including gathering and analyzing complex financial or economic data and providing recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet applications when conducting analysis and financial/economic modeling.
  • Understanding of the impact of Sarbanes Oxley legislation on publicly traded companies.
  • Provides professional accounting services utilizing U.S. and U.K. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of regulatory statements, internal/external financial statements and tax returns
  • Analysis of financial and/or economic data.
  • Responsibilities include interpreting and implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to produce monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for Securities and Exchange Commission, debt compliance, and other regulatory and internal financial reports.
  • Collect data for reporting, analyze data, resolve reporting issues, and develop analysis to explain variances.
  • Adjust entries required under GAAP.
  • Analyze complex financial or economic data and provide recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Test and review A/P invoices for accuracy of entry.

  • 5 Month contract role
