Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Representative for a 4+ month contract opportunity in Columbus, OH, with our partner, one of the leading applied science and technology development companies.


As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Representative, you will:
  • Prepare solicitations and ensure completeness and responsiveness to vendor and internal client needs.
  • Ensure solicitations conform to corporate policy, business, financial, contractual and risk perspectives and may contribute to the development of the general subcontract strategy.
  • Identify appropriate procurement type to achieve intended results and mitigate risk.
  • Review the Statement of Work (SOW, schedule and deliverables) and drafts appropriate solicitation/subcontract documents.
  • Review the client's contract or RFP to assure all flow-down terms and conditions, tailored to circumstances are included in the RFP request to the vendor.
  • Analyze procurement requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and the client's policies.
  • Draft/develop, negotiate and administer contractual agreements for assigned programs.
  • Initiate negotiations with vendor for agreement terms and pricing.
  • Propose solutions to problems encountered in negotiations.
  • Maintain procurement files in an audit-ready condition, conforms to standard practices and the client operating procedures and in a manner, consistent with legal requirements for maintaining approved purchasing system status.
  • Identify compliance problems and provides recommended solutions for approval of high level staff/management.
  • Assist/recommend solutions in solving problems that may arise during project performance.
  • Resolve problems with Accounts Payable on supplier invoice payment issues, as required.
  • Assist senior procurement staff and/or other technical, support, or management staff of market, technical, and administrative trends and problems within assigned area.
  • May assist in the direction and guidance of other less experienced procurement staff as requested by the procurement manager.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related degree.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in a strategic sourcing category leadership role.
  • Basic working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, business principles and contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable international contract law, or public contract acquisition law and regulations.
  • Able to independently execute basic purchasing responsibilities and resolve problems of low to moderate complexity with suppliers and supported client staff.
  • Able to draft simple contractual instruments in accordance with prescribed templates and guidelines.
  • Expert contract development and negotiating skills for pricing, technology upgrades, schedule creation, termination formulas, service level development and ongoing contract performance.
  • Exhibit leadership and communication skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; proven communication and time management ability.
  • Able to demonstrate strong financial analysis, project management, and experience negotiating with large providers of relevant products and services.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Prior experience developing contracts and negotiating with large companies.
  • CPM or CPSM, CFCM or CPCM certification.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to read, write, type, and use a telephone.

Additional Information:
  •  This is a 4+ Month Contract.
  •  Hours are M-F, 40 hours per week.
